

Catonsville, Md- December 3, 2025- Catonsville just got flakier. Roggenart European Bakery, Bistro and Café officially opens its doors Thursday December 4 at 10:30 a.m. and will serve an authentic European café experience. Local community leaders including Councilman Patrick Young and Chamber of Commerce of Catonsville Executive Director Namita Kumar will join Roggenart owners Neman Popov and Brody Tennant in a ribbon cutting ceremony. And yes, the largest croissant in Maryland will be used to christen the day.
Grand Opening Details
Roggenart is newly located in downtown Catonsville at: 706 Frederick, RD, Catonsville, MD 21228. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place Thursday December 4 at 10:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. All guests are treated to an exclusive tour, decadent sampling of pastries, and all you can drink coffee in the first hour.
Roggenart promises to bring customers into a charming European escape. Roggenart’s menu features artisan breakfast sandwiches atop buttery croissants, signature omelets, cast iron pressed sandwiches, and hand-crafted breads.
The company’s reputation for excellence extends to its innovative “Crookie” – a croissant baked with cookie dough inside – which trended nationally.

Headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, Popov opened the first U.S bakery in 2017. Popov and Tennant teamed up in 2020 starting with their second location in Ellicott City. Over the last five years, Popov and Tennant have used their decades of business experience into expanding this bistro and bakery brand from the ground up.
